Day 01: Friday Oct. 26 Arrive Delhi
You will be met after clearing government formalities by our representative.
You will be transferred to Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel

Day 2 Sat. Oct. 27 Delhi / Dehradun’ (BD)
You’ll be transferred to the airport for your 40 min. flight to Dehadun’s Jolly Grant Airport.
Aalia staff meet you at the airport for your 1 hour drive through colorful villages and countryside to this Ayurvedic center Overnight: Aalia -Luxury Hotel and Resort – Chila Room

Wellness activity at the hotel. You might also arrange for a drive into Rishikesh Widely regarded as the 'Yoga Capital of the World', Rishikesh attracts people from all over the globe for learning yoga and meditation. There are a number of ashrams and yoga centers in between and around the two suspension bridges, Ram Jhoola and Laxman Jhoola, that are in the northern end of town, a mile apart from each other. The road on the eastern bank is best explored on foot to observe the sights of the town more closely.

Day 04 Tue. Oct. 30: / Dehradun to Delhi (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. You will be met on arrival and escorted to your hotel, Sheraton to join the group.

Please note: Air India has non stop flights to Delhi from JFK, Chicago’s O’Hare and San Francisco. All arrive before 4 pm, but not in time to connect to the last flight to Dehradun

Main Tour

The Women's Travel Group's India is a must. Our trip includes Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Diwali celebrates the return of Lord Rama and his wife Sita to their kingdom, the triumph of good over evil. It is a festival filled with joy and happiness. Lamps are lit before the houses and there are fireworks. Jaipur markets are decorated and lit for festival shopping.

Day 1 Oct 29 (Mon) - Depart USA / Delhi
Depart US today on your overnight fight to Delhi.

Day 2 - Oct 30 (Tue) Arrive Delhi
Arrive today in India's capital city of Delhi. You are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome and escorted to the hotel to relax. SHERATON SAKET or similar (Executive Club Room). Rooms will be available from 1400hrs. early check-in is subject to availability.

Note: Individual transfers are available at additional cost.

Day 3 - Oct 31 (Wed) Delhi
This morning your attention focuses on Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of royal Shahjahanabad. The great Red Fort was the opulent residence of Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal and the magnificent Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque), which dominates the skyline. Also, visit the Raj Ghat - cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, Ashoka Pillar and later walk through Chandni Chowk, the old marketplace of Shahjahanabad, now a picturesque bazaar.

After lunch at a local restaurant tour New Delhi, visiting the Qutab Minar - a soaring stone tower, 236 feet high, built in 1193. Continue to Humayun's Tomb- an elegant example of early Mughal architecture. En route to the hotel we make photo stops at Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidential Palace) and India Gate - a war memorial. This evening, a Welcome dinner is held in your honor at Bukhara, famed for its Northwestern Indian cuisine. (BLD)

Day 4 - Nov 1 (Thu) Delhi / Varanasi
Today fly to Varanasi (India's holiest city), located on the sacred Ganges River. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel. Tonight, visit the Ghats to see the evening Aarti ceremony at the Ganges. Many religious and spiritual rituals infuse daily life in India. The Aarti Ceremony is a lamp lighting ritual that takes place every evening in the temple on the banks of the Ganges. Devotees are given small lightweight lamps made of tinfoil, which they float on the river with a silent prayer. RADISSON or similar (Superior Room). (BD)

Day 5 - Nov 2 (Fri) Varanasi-Sarnath
Early this morning embark on a cruise on the Ganges. Witness a stunning sight as a multitude of devotes swarm the river and pay obeisance to the rising sun. Later continue on a walking tour of the historic city where spiritualism permeates the atmosphere. This afternoon visit the stupas, ruins and museum at Sarnath, scene of Buddha's first sermon. In the evening visit Durga Saraswati Kala Sanstha, a school that teaches traditional Indian dance. (BD)

Day 6 - Nov 3 (Sat) Varanasi / Khajuraho
Fly to Khajuraho, capital of the 9th to 13th century Chandela Dynasty. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel. This afternoon visit the principal Eastern group of temples, which reflect the simplicity inherent in Jainism. In the evening we attend a sound and light show at the temples. RADISSON or similar (Deluxe Room). (BD)

Day 7 - Nov. 4 (Sun) Khajuraho / Agra
Early this morning attend yoga classes. After breakfast, drive to Jhansi to board the train to Agra (2 hours 15 minutes), en route visiting Orcha, a medieval city frozen in time and space. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel. ITC MUGHAL or similar (Mughal Chambers). (B)

Day 8 - Nov 5 (Mon) Agra
Visit the Taj Mahal early this morning as the rays of the rising sun bathe the marble with a divine glow. The morningis free for shopping. In the afternoon explore Agra Fort, seat of the Mughal dynasty in the 16th century. Finally, we visit the incredible Taj Mahal to witness this flawless monument bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, the incredible lacy white grandeur built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his loving wife Mumtaz Mahal, the "lady of the Taj". It has been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. (BLD)

Day 9 - Nov 6 (Tue)Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Abheneri / Jaipur
After breakfast depart for Jaipur. Enroute, visit the abandoned and nearly intact Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, once ruled by emperor Akbar. This ghost town is remarkably well preserved and presents a perfect synthesis of Muslim, Hindu and Jain architecture. The sculptured columns bear mute testimony to this gallant experiment to unite Hindus and Muslims. Continue to Jaipur with a stop at Abhaneri a small village located 57 mi. from Jaipur. The village is renowned for its monuments, Chand Baori and Harshat Mata temple. Chand Baori is fortified on all sides and is one of the largest step wells in India. After sightseeing at the step well we continue to Jaipur. Check in upon arrival at the hotel. Tonight, we’ll visit the Jaipur markets fully illuminated for Diwali. It’s a dazzling display of colorful lamps and lights.

Day 10 - Nov. 7 (Wed) - Amber Fort Excursion & Jaipur Sightseeing
This morning visit the mountain fortress of Amber, riding royally atop regally painted and decorated elephants. (There is alternate transport for those that wish) Later, enjoy a tour of Jaipur City, visiting Hawa Mahal or the "Palace of Winds", City Palace and the ancient observatory. The afternoon is free for shopping. In the evening, enjoy a home hosted dinner celebrating Diwali. (BLD)

Day 11 - Nov. 8 (Thu) – Jaipur-Sanganer Excursion`
Sanganer is a village near Jaipur known for its woo`d block printing that dates back to 17th century and is popular in Europe. There are Saris, table linens and bed covers in abundance. Farewell dinner (BD)

Day 12 - Nov. 9 (Fri) - Jaipur / Delhi / Depart
This morning is at leisure to pursue independent activities. This afternoon drive back to Delhi where you have rooms to rest and change for a few hours at RADISSON BLU PLAZA. Late in the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home filled with colorful memories of India. (BD)


Day 12 - Nov. 9 (Fri) Jaipur / Ranthambhore (3 1/2 - 4 hours)
Depart by surface to Ranthambhore, the remains of a thousand year old fortress. Today leopards and tigers prowl the ruins. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive.

Day 13 - Nov 10 (Sat) - Ranthambhore Game Reserve
Ranthambhore is one of the few preserves where the nocturnal camera-shy tigers may be seen in daylight. Almost hunted to extinction by the local royalty and their British overlords, the population of the Bengal tiger is slowly increasing, thanks to the efforts of “Project Tiger” and the World Wildlfe Fund. You’ll enjoy thrilling game drives in the morning and evening to scour the jungle for wildlife. (BLD)

Day 14 - Nov 11 (Sun) - Ranthambhore / Delhi
After breakfast, drive back to Jaipur (3 1/2 hrs), in time for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the PRIDE hotel, where a room is available for wash and change for couple of hours. Room is available for the maximum usage of 6 hrs between 1000 hrs until 2100 hrs. Later in the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. (B)

Once this was the hunting ground for the Maharajah of Jaipur and today it is the largest national park in Rajasthan. An exciting finale to your trip to amazing India. WTG Cancellations:

Due to the special nature of the programs featured in this brochure, suppliers impose rigid cancellation fees; please be aware that SITA has no control over such fees and cannot make any exceptions to these charges. Note: All cancellations must be received by SITA in writing; cancellation/s will be effective when the written notice is received at SITA's offices in Encino, CA.

If a cancellation is received after SITA is in possession of the initial deposit, but more than 90 days prior to departure , the cancellation fee incurred will be $350 per person (a higher cancellation fee may apply to some tours). If cancellation is received between 89 and 61 days prior to departure the fee incurred will be 75% of the entire tour price. No refunds whatsoever will be made for cancellations received within the last 60 days prior to departure.

Airfares are subject to different rules and cancellation fees; some may be non-refundable. Details will be provided at the time of booking and are subject to change by the airline.

To protect against cancellation charges, we strongly recommend purchasing Cancellation Protection and Travel Interruption Insurance (see Insurance clause).
