Day 2: Cross International Date Line.
Day 3: Arrive Chennai
On your arrival in Chennai you will be met at the airport and transferred to RADHA PARK HOTEL.
Day 4: Chennai Sightseeing
Morning at leisure. Your afternoon tour of Chennai takes you to Victoria Art Gallery, Bronze Gallery and Chennai Museum. The Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and Kapaleeswarar Temple complete your visit. (B)
Day 5: Chennai / Mammalapuram - Kanchipuram Excursion
Proceed to Kanchipuram, one of the seven sacred cities of India. Visit three of the best temples-Kailasanatha and Ekambareshwara, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Vaikuntaperumal dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Afternoon tour Mammalapuram, where you will visit the seventh century rock hewn monuments The shore temple, the only surviving one of seven, is a unique example of a temple built of rock quarried elsewhere and carried to shore. Check into MGM BEACH RESORT. (B)
Day 6: Mammalapuram
Day free to relax and pursue independent activities. (B)
Day 7: Mammalapuram / Pondicherry
In the morning drive to Pondicherry. Upon arrival, check into ANANDA INN. Afternoon visit Botanical Gardens, Eglise De Sacre Coeur De Jesus, The Promenade, Government Park, Manakula Vinayagar Temple, Roman Rolland Library, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, French Institute, Museums & Art Galleries. (B)
Day 8: Pondicherry / Tanjore
Drive this morning to Tanjore, en route visit Nataraj Temple at Chidambaram, and also visit the temples at Kumbakonam. Arrive in Tanjore and check-in at the SANGHAM HOTEL. (B)
Day 9: Tanjore / Trichy
Morning tour Tanjore, visiting Brihadeeswara Temple, The Palace, Sangeetha Mahal, Saraswati Mahal, Library, Raja Museum, Temple Museum, Schwarz Church. Later drive to Trichy. Upon arrival, check into SANGHAM HOTEL. Your the afternoon visit includes the Rock Fort, Sri Jambukeshwara Temple, Tiruvannaikaval, Srirangam, Museums & Art Galleries. (B)
Day 10: Trichy / Madurai
Depart by surface for Madurai. Check into MADURA PARK INN. Afternoon visit Meenakshi Temple, Tirumalai Nayak Palace, Mariamman Tank, Koodal Alagar Temple. In the evening visit Meenakshi Temple again for the evening prayer ceremony. (B)
Day 11: Madurai / Thekkady
Morning drive to Thekkady. Upon arrival, check into TAJ GARDEN RETREAT. Afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Day 12: Periyar Game Viewing / Kumarakom
Enjoy early morning game viewing by boat on Periyar Lake. The motor launch drifts along the lake presenting close views of elephants, deer, bison and even leopards and tigers. Later in the morning drive to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, check into ABAD WHISPERING PALM HOTEL. Your afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps take advantage of the rich waters with a bit of fishing, or just relax ad soak in the rich atmosphere of your surroundings. (B)
Day 13: Backwaters Cruise
In the morning set out to enjoy the Backwaters. Your boat cruises through the series of canals and lagoons snaking their way through several tiny villages and tropical vegetation Not only do the backwaters of Kerala link the state together, they are an integral element in maintaining ecological balance and creating harmony with nature. Your afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Day 14: Kumarakom / Cochin
Take a cruise this morning on Vembanad Lake, site of a bird sanctuary. Waterfowl, cormorants, egrets and teals are seen in abundance. Later drive to Cochin - one of the most picturesque places in Kerala. Check into CASINO HOTEL. Tonight enjoy a presentation of the colorful costumed Kathakali dance drama. (B)
Day 15: Cochin
Your morning tour this afternoon includes a visit to the Portuguese Church built by St. Francis in 1562, the Jewish Synagogue, the famed Mattancherry Palace, and the Chinese fishing nets-ingenious devices requiring little human attention. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 16: Cochin /Home
Early morning transfer to the International airport for your flight back home. (B)
