Day 1: Depart North America
Depart North America on Singapore Airlines on your exciting North India tour.
Day 2: Cross International Date Line.
Day 3: Arrive Delhi
Arrive tonite in India’s capital city of Delhi. You are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome and escorted to the CONNAUGHT HOTEL.
Day 4: Delhi
After a leisurely morning, start your afternoon tour of Old Delhi. Among your stops are the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Ashoka Pillar and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. (B)
Day 5: Delhi Sightseeing
This morning tour New Delhi - drive along Rajpath to view Parliament House, the President’s House, India Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple.Afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Day 6: Delhi / Agra
Drive to Agra, en route visiting Sikandra. Upon arrival, check into HOLIDAY INN. Afternoon visit the Agra Fort followed by visit to the Taj Mahal for a sunset view. (B)
Day 7: Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur, en route visiting the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. Upon arrival, check into HOLIDAY INN. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 8: Amber Fort Excursion & Jaipur Sightseeing
Morning visit the mountain fortress-palace at Amber, riding atop daintily painted and decorated elephants. Later, tour Jaipur City, visiting Hawa Mahal, City Palace and the ancient observatory. (B)
Day 9: Jaipur / Udaipur
This morning fly to Udaipur. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to HOTEL SHIKARBADI. In the afternoon tour this famous “City of Lakes,” known as one of the most picturesque and romantic cities of India and maybe the world. Visit City Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari or Garden of Maids; and the folklore museum where you can see a presentation of the string puppets typical to this area. (B)
Day 10: Ranakpur Excursion
Today’s excursion brings you to the beautifully sculpted 15th century Jain temples of Ranakpur. The intricately carved white marble is so well preserved. The temple dedicated to the Sun God is famed for its erotic sculpture. Stop for lunch at Maharani Bagh, a mango grove and private gardens of the Maharana of Jodhpur. (BL)
Day 11: Udaipur / Mumbai (Bombay)
Morning fly to Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the most cosmopolitan city of India. Upon arrival in Mumbai, you will be met and transferred to RAMADA INN hotel. Afternoon proceed for a tour of the city, which includes the British-built arch “Gateway of India,” the Hanging Gardens and the affluent community of Malabar Hills; the Prince of Wales Museum, Dhobi Ghat, Marine Drive, the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Jain Temple. Day 12: Elephanta Caves
Cruise across the harbor to Elephanta Island and its famous caves, filled with carvings and sculptures dating back to AD 550. The afternoon is at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities. Late evening transfer to the international airport for your flight back home. (B)
Day 13: Arrive North America
Arrive home, filled with colorful memories of your luxurious sojourn through Northern India.
