Day
1: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive this morning in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly
known as Saigon. Upon arrival, you are met and
transferred to EQUATORIAL HOTEL. The rest of the day
is at leisure.
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels Excursion / City
Sightseeing
Drive to the remarkable Cu Chi tunnels outside Ho
Chi Minh City. During the war, Viet Cong guerillas
built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels, using them to
hide during bombing raids and to stage surprise
attacks. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon
for a half-day city tour, including the
Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central
Post Office, Chinatown, Binh Tay Market and Thien
Hau Temple. (B)
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City / Boat Cruise in Mekong
Delta
Depart Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic drive through
the Mekong Delta. Take a boat to an island with
orchard gardens. Take a horse-drawn cart to Quoi Son
to visit a bee farm and enjoy tea and candies. Float
on a sampan through the narrow, tree-lined canals of
the Mekong Delta. Continue by boat to a family-run
enterprise making coconut candy. After lunch, time
permitting, visit the Vinh Trang pagoda. Return to
Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon. (BL)
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City / Nha Trang
Morning transfer to the airport for flight to Nha
Trang. Upon arrival, met and transferred to YASAKA
SAIGON NHA TRANG. Rest of the day free to relax and
pursue independent activities. (B).
Day 5: Nha Trang
This morning after breakfast, take a boat cruise to
offshore islands in Nha Trang Bay. The rest of the
day is at leisure to relax and pursue independent
activities. (B)
Day 6: Nha Trang / Danang / Hoi An
This morning, transfer to the airport for your
flight to Danang. You are met and driven to Hoi Ann,
stopping en route at the Marble Mountains. Continue
your drive to the absolutely charming and relaxed
town of Hoi An. Upon arrival, check in to GOLDEN
SAND RESORT. (B)
Day 7: Hoi An / Hue
Drive this morning via the scenic Hai Van Pass, or
“Pass of Clouds,” to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial
capital located on the Perfume River. Upon arrival,
check in to SAIGON MORIN HOTEL. Your sightseeing
tour today includes the imposing Imperial Citadel,
the Museum of Royal Relics and the Dong Ba market.
Enjoy a cyclo ride this evening. (B)
Day 8: Hue
This morning, take a boat cruise to visit Thien Mu
Pagoda, followed by visit to the Tomb of Emperor
Minh Mang, the Imperial Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and a
typical Hue home. (B)
Day 9: Hue / Hanoi
The morning is at leisure. This afternoon, fly to
Hanoi, which has been Vietnam’s capital for nearly
1,000 years. Historical emphasis on the arts and
learning stipulates that buildings in Hanoi remain
small, simple and in harmony with nature. You are
met at the airport and escorted to NIKKO HOTEL. This
evening, enjoy a one-hour cyclo ride around the Old
Quarter. (B)
Day 10: Hanoi Sightseeing
Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the preserved
body of “Uncle Ho” may be viewed. Also visit his
nearby house, the lotus-shaped One Pillar Pagoda,
Quan Thanh Temple, the Temple of Literature, Hoan
Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and a couple of museums.
Enjoy lunch at Sen Restaurant. This evening, enjoy a
one-hour cyclo ride around the Old Quarter. (B)
Day 11: Hanoi / Home
This morning, transfer to the airport for your
flight back home. (B)
