Day 1: Arrive Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
Arrive Kigali and enjoy the spectacular views of the majestic volcanoes en route to Ruhengeri. HOTEL GORILLAS or similar. (LD)
Day 2: Gorilla trekking - Kigali
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist enter the Parc National des Volcans to track the gorillas. After lunch at your lodge, drive back to Kigali. UMUBANO NOVOTEL. (BLD)
Day 3: Kigali /Kibale National Park/ Fort Portal
Depart early and enter Uganda passing through the land of 1000 Hills. Travel through banana, tofu and coffee plantations and the lush Kibale National Park to Fort Portal. MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON HOTEL (BLD)
Day 4: Fort Portal / Semliki Reserve
Continue through fascinating landscapes to see the Pygmies, who grow coffee and cocoa. Interact with them at the local markets where they will show how they use forest plants for medicinal purposes. Proceed to the Semliki Reserve. Enjoy a night game drive in an open Land Rover to see nocturnal species such as leopard, lion, spotted genets, white-tailed mongoose, eagle owls and spectacular nightjars. SEMLIKI SAFARI LODGE (BLD)
Day 5: Semliki / Fort Portal / Queen Elizabeth National Park
Head out on a guided nature walk in the forest in search of chimpanzees, birds, butterflies and different species of plants. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. MWEYA SAFARI LODGE (BLD)
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in the park. Afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel to witness the hundreds of types of birds, followed by a late game drive in search of elephant herds. (BLD)
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth / Lake Mburo
Proceed to the escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley for an unforgettable sight. Arrive for lunch at Lake Mburo, keeping an eye out for game en route to your lodge. MANTANA TENTED CAMP. (BLD)
Day 8: Lake Mburo / Depart Entebbe
After an early morning game drive, return to Entebbe for an evening departure. (B)
