SITA World Tours is seeking Business Development Managers (BDM) in the Northeastern USA territory
Responsibilities:
The BDM is responsible for developing business and reaching target requirements for their assigned territory. This requires frequent travel and strong communication with various entities, including tourism boards, travel agencies/consortia, associations, museums, universities and other sources of travel businesses. Other responsibilities include:
- Securing preferred supplier status with consortia
- Initiating co-op agency campaigns
- Seminars / presentations to agency networks and consortia
- Travel agent product training
- Customer / client services
- Sales calls and follow up to close sales
- Supplier involvement when applicable
- Building Group business
- E-marketing efforts and maintenance of strong database
Qualifications:
- 6+ Years experience working with a Tour Operator
- Familiar with key decision makers for various travel agencies/consortiums
- Familiar or have traveled to exotic destinations such as Australia/New Zealand, Africa, Asia, South America, and Central America
- Strong destination knowledge
- Able to make travel product presentations to travel agents in front of audiences that can range as high as 60, 70 agents at one time
- Able to travel without restrictions/valid drivers license
- Must have excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking. Must be able to create proposals and close agreements/sales prospects with preferred agencies and consortiums
- Sales-oriented, target driven, proven records in sales
- Honest and hardworking
- Excellent time management skills and organizational skills
- Must be capable of multi-tasking
- Strong computer stills – proficient in Word, Powerpoint, Excel
- Must work well with management and be team oriented
