Day 1 Thu: Johannesburg / Windhoek
Midday departure from Johannesburg to Windhoek. On arrival transfer to the KALAHARI SANDS HOTEL or similar.
Day 2 Fri: Windhoek / Swakopmund
Depart for Swakopmund, nestling between desert dunes and the Atlantic Ocean. Afternoon at leisure. EUROPA HOTEL (Bronze) (B) or HANSA HOTEL (Gold) (BD)
Day 3 Sat: Swakopmund / Damaraland
Travel north to the fascinating lichen fields where over one hundred different species have been identified. Visit Cape Cross, a seal reserve, home to 80,000 fur seals. Drive into Damaraland, home of the Desert Elephant and Black rhino, passing the Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia. TWYFELTEIN LODGE (Bronze) (B) or MOZWANI MOUNTAIN CAMP (Gold) (BD)
Day 4 Sun: Damaraland / Twyfelfontein / Etosha
Explore the magnificent landscapes of the Huab River Valley, visiting the pre-historic rock art galleries at Twyfelfontein. The area is strewn with boulders, all dotted with thousands of engravings and ancient paintings, some dating back to 3,300 B.C. Geological features in the area include the Organ Pipes considered to be over 130 million years old, Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest. Day 5 Mon: Etosha National Park
Enter the famous Etosha National Park, covering over 17,000 square kilometers, for a full day of game viewing. Herbivores such as zebra, elephant, giraffe, gemsbok and springbok abound.
Day 6 Tue: Etosha National Park
Full day of game viewing in the park, with the opportunity of sighting the black-fenced impala, or Namibia’s smallest antelope, the Damara Dik-Dik. GHAUB GUEST FARM (Bronze) (B) or ONGUMA PLAINS

Day 7 Wed: Etosha / Windhoek
Visit Lake Otjkoto one of only two natural lakes in Namibia. Travel to the town of Tsumeb where copper, zinc, lead, silver and a variety of unusual crystals are mined and make a short stop at the museum. Day 8 Thu: Depart Windhoek
Morning at leisure until midday departure to the airport for the flight to Johannesburg. (B)
