Venezuela is a land of vast natural resources with ample opportunities to explore, play and enjoy. The Canaima National Park was dubbed “The Lost World” by British writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sprawling across more than seven million acres in southeastern Venezuela, it’s home to endangered jaguars, ocelots, armadillos, 100 varieties of bird and more than 9,000 plant species. The highlight is Angel Falls, the highest unbroken waterfall on earth.
Day 1 - Arrive Caracas
Arrive Caracas. You are welcomed at the airport and transfer to our hotel.
Day 2 – Caracas - Los Roques (flight)
You will be assisted and transferred to the airport for your 40 min. flight to Los Roques (departure at 05:30 or 07:30, depending on availability). Arrive at Gran Roque air strip, the only inhabited island of the spectacular Archipelago Los Roques. Transfer to the pier and board your Catamaran for a full-day excursion to the islands of the archipelago.
Lunch on board, including non-alcoholic drinks. Snorkeling equipment is available. In the afternoon return to Gran Roque and check in at your Pousada. (BLD)
Day 3 - Los Roques
After breakfast continue to explore the islands of the archipelago on board your Catamaran. Lunch on board, and dinner at your Posada. (BLD)
Day 4 – Los Roques / Orinoco Delta
You will be assisted and transferred to the airport for your flight to Puerto Ordaz (via Margarita Island). Transfer to the port of Morichal Largo and travel by boat to Orinoco Delta. Lunch at the camp. Afternoon excursion in the Delta. Dinner and overnight at the camp. (BLD)
Day 5 - Orinoco Delta
Explore the Delta. Morning and afternoon excursions by boat, including survival training in the jungle, piranha fishing, and visit to the Warao Indian communities. (BLD)
Day 6 - Orinoco Delta - Canaima National Park (Flight)
You will be assisted and transferred to the airport for your flight to Arekuna Lodge, at the border of Canaima National Park. After lunch excursion in the area around Arekuna. (BLD)
Day 7 - Canaima National Park
Morning and afternoon excursion in Canaima National Park. These may vary depending on the season. Excursions include: Boat excursion along the Antabares River to Guariche Falls; Hiking to the Nonoy Tepuy, enjoy a great view of the Tepuys El Venado, La Vieja, El Zamuro and the famous Auyan-Tepui; Boat excursion and hiking to Las
Babas falls; Visit Pemon Indian community of Antabares; Excursion to the Miso rapids. (BLD)
Day 8 – Canaima National Park - Margarita Island
You will be assisted and transferred to the airport for your flight to Canaima village, located on the banks of beautiful Canaima lagoon. After a short excursion to Sapo Falls, transfer to airport for flight to Margarita Island en route flying over Angel Falls, the highest waterfall on earth (weather permitting; taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the over flight may also take place on day 5, during the flight from Puerto Ordaz to Arekuna). Arrive Margarita Island and connect with your flight to Caracas or extend your stay on Margarita Island. (B)
