7 Days Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls, Sao Paulo

Tour overview:
This hot, happening, dynamic country has something for every one who loves travel. From the beaches of Rio de Janeiro to the magnificent spectacle of Iguassu Falls, Brazil is a wonderland of adventure and fun. Guests have the option of extending their visit to Santa Catarina and/or Bahia.

Day 1 -Arrive Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro – City Tour / Corcovado
Your morning tour features a ride by cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Take in spectacular views of the city from Corcovado to Guanabara Bay and Niteroi Bridge. Later, drive along the Leblon and famous Ipanema beaches before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, visit Corcovado, upon which stands the statue of Christ the Redeemer. En route, see Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the traditional Cosme Velho neighborhood. Take a cogwheel train to the famous statue and enjoy the stunning vista before descending. (BL)

Day 3 – Rio de Janeiro
The mountain retreat of Petropolis has been called the Imperial City since the times of Emperor Pedro II. Visit the Imperial Museum, which was the summer residence of Emperor D. Pedro II, and is where all of his treasures are displayed. Continue to the Gothic Cathedral where Princess Isabel was buried. Also view the tombstones of D. Pedro II and his wife. From there, you will see the Crystal Palace, which was built in France and moved to Brazil, where it was destined to shelter exhibitions and great parties promoted by Princess Isabel. (BL)

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro
Enjoy a full day at leisure to relax and pursue independent activities. (B)

Day 5 - Rio de Janeiro / Iguassu Falls
Fly to Iguassu. Transfer to your hotel. Later, take a walking tour with a local guide along the Brazilian side of the amazing waterfalls, one of the natural wonders of the world. (BD) Optional: Helicopter ride over the spectacular falls.

Day 6 - Iguassu Falls – Iguassu National Park
Travel by coach to the Argentine side of the falls. Continue on to Iguassu National Park to enjoy a guided walking tour of this natural wonderland. The afternoon is free. Tonight, enjoy a barbecue dinner and Latin show at the Rafain Hotel. (BD)

Day 7 - Iguassu Falls / Sao Paulo/ Depart Sao Paulo
Depart by flight to Sao Paulo. Arrive and connect with your flight to onward destination. (B)

EXTENSION TO BAHIA: SALVADOR or GUAEAJUBA (VILA GALE MARES)

Day 7 - Sao Paulo - Salvador
Arrive Salvador and transfer to your city hotel or to Guarajuba (1 hour drive from Salvador). (B)

Day 8 - Salvador
Enjoy guided city tour (for city hotel) or day at leisure if staying at Guarajuba. (B)

Day 9 - Depart Salvador
Transfer to the airport for your flight to onward destination. (B)

EXTENSION TO FLORIANOPOLIS

Day 1 – Arrive Florianopolis
Arrive Florianopolis, capital of Santa Catarina. Santa Catarina is a paradisiacal island, with white sandy beaches, azure blue lagoons and lush green hills. Blessed with a temperate climate, Santa Catarina is home to many European immigrants from Italy, Germany, Hungary and Scandinavia who have imported their customs, cultures and cuisines. It is the ideal spot to enjoy a European vacation away from Europe. Stay overnight at one of the best resorts in Brazil. (BD)

Day 2 - Florianopolis
Enjoy two days at leisure during which you can pursue independent activities. Ask about the myriad optional tours available by boat and by land. (BD)
