1 Thu: North America / Rio de Janeiro
Depart this evening for Rio de Janeiro as you
board your flight for your spectacular Brazilian
adventure.
Day 2 Fri: Arrive in Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro late this morning.
You are welcomed and transferred to RIO
INTERNACIONAL HOTEL in Copacabana. The rest of
the day is at leisure. Enjoy dinner this evening
at the Pompano Oceano. (D)
Day 3 Sat: Rio de Janeiro City Tour & Corcovado
This morning, ride by cable car to the summit
of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Take in spectacular
views of the city from Corcovado to Guanabara
Bay and Niteroi Bridge. Later, descend and drive
along the Lebion and famous Ipanema beaches
before stopping for lunch at the Art Deco Café
Confeitaria Colombo, one of Rio’s oldest cafes.
Your afternoon tour includes a visit to
Corcovado, upon which stands the Christ Redeemer
statue. En route, see Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon
and the traditional Cosme Velho neighborhood.
Take a cogwheel train to the famous statue and
enjoy the stunning vista before descending. (BL)
Day 4 Sun: Petropolis
The mountain retreat of Petropolis has been
called the Imperial City since the times of
Emperor Pedro II. Visit the Imperial Museum,
which was the summer residence of Emperor D.
Pedro II, and is where all of his treasures are
displayed. Continue to the Gothic Cathedral
where Princess Isabel was buried. Also view the
tombstones of D. Pedro II and his wife. From
there, you will see the Crystal Palace, which
was built in France and moved to Brazil, where
it was destined to shelter exhibitions and great
parties promoted by Princess Isabel. (BL)
Day 5 Mon: Rio de Janeiro / Iguassu Falls
Fly to Iguassu Falls this morning and transfer to
CONTINENTAL INN HOTEL. Later this afternoon,
enjoy a walking tour with a local guide along
the Brazilian side of the falls, which are one
of the natural wonders of the world. (BD)
Day 6 Tue: Iguassu Falls National Park –
Argentine Side
Travel by coach to the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls. Continue on to Iguassu National
Park to enjoy a guided walking tour of this
natural wonderland. The afternoon is free.
Tonight, enjoy a barbecue dinner and Latin show
at the Rafain Hotel. (BD)
Day 7 Wed: Iguassu Falls / Florianopolis
Fly to Florianopolis, capital of Santa Catarina. Santa Catarina is a paradisiacal
island, with white sandy beaches, azure blue
lagoons and lush green hills. Blessed with a
temperate climate, Santa Catarina is home to
many European
immigrants from Italy, Germany, Hungary and
Scandinavia who have imported their customs,
cultures and cuisines. It is the ideal spot to
enjoy a European vacation away from Europe. Stay
