Day 1: Alice Springs – Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Depart Alice Springs at 7.30am. Travel south through
the West MacDonnell and James Ranges to Ayers Rock
Resort and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park.
Stop at a camel farm for an optional camel ride and
view the majestic Mt. Conner. This afternoon visit
Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), a unique rock formation of
many large domes that is sacred to the local
Aboriginal people. Explore Walpa Gorge, then watch
the sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock) while enjoying a
complimentary glass of wine. Overnight at the
AYERS ROCK CAMPGROUND (tented) or OUTBACK PIONEER
HOTEL (standard).
Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Early departure to view the splendour of the desert
sunrise within Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. You
may wish to climb to the top of the monolith or
enjoy a guided walk and learn of the Aboriginal
mythology surrounding this mystical place. Continue
on a guided base tour around Uluru, before visiting
the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Return to
Ayers Rock Resort, arriving at approximately
12.00pm. (CB)
