Day 1 Thu: Darwin
On arrival into Darwin you will be transferred to
your hotel. This
afternoon you will be taken on an orientation tour
of this tropical city. Enjoy a welcome drink and
dinner this evening your Tour Director and fellow travelling companions.

Day 2 Fri: Kakadu National Park
We leave Darwin & travel to Kakadu National Park.
Continue to Ubirr, see historical cave paintings and
climb to the top of this rocky outcrop for rewarding
views. We stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre. The
displays here will take you on a journey through
Kakadu's varied habitats and landscapes. Time this
afternoon to take a scenic flight over the wetlands
(own expense)

Day 3 Sat: Katherine
This morning we join a cruise on the famous Yellow
Water Billabong. We should see a variety of bird
life and with luck we may also see the feared
estuarine crocodile basking in the muddy shallows.
We pass through the town of Pine Creek en route to
Katherine.

Day 4 Sun: Tennant Creek
A special highlight this morning is our breakfast
cruise through Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National
Park. Following the cruise we head to Mataranka,
where you will have time for a dip in the Thermal
Springs. Later we'll have the opportunity to mix
with the locals at the historic Daly Creek Hotel.

Day 5 Mon: Alice Springs
This morning we join a local guide for a tour of the
historic Battery Hill Precinct. Continuing south we
arrive at Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles). There is
time to walk around these precariously balanced
boulders. We continue to Alice Springs for the
evening.

Day 6 Tue: Alice Springs 'Free Time'
You have the day free to relax or explore Alice
Springs. You may wish to join an optional 4WD tour
to Palm Valley or perhaps visit the Alice Springs
Desert Park. Your Tour Director has all the details.

Day 7 Wed: Kings Canyon
See the sights of Alice Springs , including the
Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the
Air. We stop for panoramic views of Alice Springs
from Anzac Hill. This afternoon we leave Alice
Springs and travel to Kings Canyon.
Hotel: Kings Canyon Resort, Kings Canyon. BD
Day 8 Thu: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
For the energetic a guided climb to the rim of Kings
Canyons will be rewarded with magnificent views of
Watarrka National Park. Alternatively, you may
prefer to explore the boulder-strewn Canyon floor,
an easier walk. On arrival at Uluru - Kata Tjuta
National Park we visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) with
time for a walk. This evening enjoy a glass of wine
and nibbles as you watch sunset at Uluru.

Day 9 Fri: Coober Pedy
This morning you may wish to rise early to join a
tour to view sunrise at Uluru.
We leave the Northern Territory this morning and
travel to Coober Pedy, the remote South Australian
town best known for its opals and underground homes.

Day 10 Sat: Port Augusta
We start the day with a tour that includes a visit
to an underground church and home, as well as an
introduction to Opals. We continue our journey
south. We travel to Woomera en route to Port
Augusta, situated on the quiet waterways at the head
of the Spencer Gulf.

Day 11 Sun: Adelaide
We'll have time this morning to explore the Wadlata
Outback Centre before continuing on to Adelaide ,
'the City of Churches'.

Day 12 Mon: Adelaide
Your tour concludes this morning after breakfast.
You will be transferred to Adelaide Airport to
connect with your onward flight. B
