Tours Overview
Japan’s most impressive sites are included in this journey of highlights. From the vast international glamour of Tokyo you’ll travel to the sacred city of Kyoto. Japan’s capital from 794 to 1868, the city was spared during World War II to preserve its historical treasures and many of the priceless shrines and temples from Japan’s past survive.
Day 1 - Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at New Tokyo International Airport (Narita Airport). Upon arrival, you are met by a SITA representative at the exit and assisted to board airport coach for your hotel.
Day 2 - Tokyo Sightseeing
Enjoy your join-in tour of Tokyo. The tour will visit Tokyo Tower Observatory, Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon Temple and
Nakamise shopping arcade. Tour ends at Akihabara or Tokyo Station, where you may continue further independent exploration. Afternoon at leisure. (B) Enjoy free early morning optional tour to Tsukiji Fish Market with breakfast at Sushi restaurant.
Day 3 - Tokyo / Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour / Kyoto
Travel this morning by deluxe Coach to Mt. Fuji. Drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters. Later travel to Hakone. Enjoy Lake Ashi Boat Cruise and Hakone Ropeway (may be omitted due to traffic condition). Later transfer to train station to board your train for Kyoto. Check into your hotel. (B)
Day 4 - Kyoto sightseeing / Nara excursion
Morning enjoy your tour of Kyoto. Visit Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace. Later proceed to Nara. Visit Todaiji Temple housing the Great Buddha, colorful Kasuga Shrine with 3,000 lanterns and Deer Park. (B)
* If Nijo Castle is closed, the tour will visit Ryoanji Temple. If Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed, the tour will visit Nishi Honganji Temple or Kitano Temmagu Shrine instead.
Day 5 - Kyoto / Tokyo
This morning is at leisure. Evening board your train for Tokyo. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. (B)
Day 6 - Tokyo / Home
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. (B)

As a guest of SITA, you will receive a free optional tour to Tsukiji Fish Market* with breakfast at a sushi restaurant.
*The Tsukiji Fish Market tour is applicable for travelers arriving in Tokyo on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in 2012 only. This option is not applicable when the Tsukiji Fish Market is closed. Travelers opting to take the Fish Market tour will be provided an afternoon city tour.
