9 Days Kampala, Murchison National Park, Lake Albert, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Lake Kivu, Kigali

Day 1 – Arrive Entebbe/Kampala
Arrive Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 – Kampala / Ziwa Sanctuary / Murchison National Park
Depart Entebbe/Kampala to Murchison National Park, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route. The sanctuary is home to 6 rhinos and a range of other game and many bird species, where a guided rhino-tracking excursion is offered. Cross the Nile by ferry and proceed to your lodge. (BLD)

Day 3 – Murchison National Park
A morning game drive most commonly reveals elephant, giraffe, buffalo, warthog, leopard, lion, and many others. Return to the lodge for lunch followed by an afternoon launch trip to the bottom of the falls. The return journey from the falls as the sun sets is one of the most beautiful and relaxing experiences in Africa! (BLD)

Day 4 – Murchison National Park / Lake Albert / Western Uganda
Travel through the Rift Valley, via Lake Albert and its coastal fringes where flocks of small zebu are tended by the proud Alur herdsmen. Continue to Fort Portal, through high plateaus and valleys where several villages cling to the slopes. Further south, the tea plantations display their resplendent green carpet as far as the eye can see. Then the landscape becomes more tortuous as you reach the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, whose snow-capped peaks can be seen in the distance. (BLD)

Day 5 – Kibale National Park / Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start early for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale National Park is protecting a large block of rainforest that harbors the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa. After lunch drive to Queen Elisabeth National Park along the foothills of the Rwenzori for an evening game drive. (BLD)

Day 6 – Queen Elizabeth National Park
The game to be seen on your early morning game drive will depend on the season. The Mweya peninsula is good for a variety of animals including elephants; in the Kasenyi plains you will find mostly lion and Uganda cob. Return to the lodge for lunch. This afternoon take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where a vast array of birds and the wildlife come to drink. (BLD)

Day 7 – Queen Elizabeth National Park / Volcanoes National Park
Depart for Rwanda through grass covered hills, valleys filled with a mixture of banana, tofu and coffee plantations, and the busy commercial center of Kabale. As you approach, you are afforded the most magnificent view of the whole volcano chain of the Virunga Mountains. At Kisoro, the lava road splits and we head towards the Rwandan border. (BLD)

Day 8 – Volcanoes National Park / Lake Kivu
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits of the Virunga Mountains, you are guided into the Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. In the late afternoon drive to Gisenyi, a small town located on the northern shore of Lake Kivu. (BLD)

Day 9 – Depart Kigali
After a wholesome breakfast, leave the gleaming waters of Lake Kivu and journey back to Kigali. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
