Day 1 Oct 27 / Nov 10 / Dec 1 Nairobi
On your arrival at Nairobi, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
NAIROBI SERENA HOTEL

Day 2 Oct 28 / Nov 11 / Dec 2 Mount Kenya
Drive to your hotel situated in the shadow of Mt Kenya, Kenya's highest mountain.
Lunch at the lodge and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. MOUNTAIN LODGE (BLD)

Day 3 Oct 29 / Nov 12 / Dec 3 Mount Kenya
After breakfast, drive to the Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary. Saddling the equator, this reserve offers a magnificent view across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, and has an abundance of wildlife and tropical vegetation. Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the closest reserve to Kenya's capital Nairobi to boast all of the "Big 5" game - Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo. Only 2.5 hours or 250 kilometers north of Nairobi on a paved highway, the reserve is easily accessible and has the highest ratio of game-to-geographical-area of all parks and reserves in Kenya. Lunch at the camp. Afternoon game drive.
Overnight at SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP (BLD)

Day 4 Oct 30 / Nov 13 / Dec 4 Samburu
Today drive to the Samburu National Reserve. Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Lunch at the lodge. Take an afternoon game drive. Reserved by the unsympathetic equatorial sun throughout the year, relief comes from the wide swathe of the Ewaso nyiro river which rises some hundreds of kilometers to the west on the foothills of the Aberdares and which vanishes beyond Samburu in the recesses of the lorian swamp. The river is at its west in the reserve, broad and sluggish with a large population of crocodiles, seen on the sandbanks at almost every bend. SAMBURU SERENA LODGE (BLD)

Day 5 Oct 31 / Nov 14 / Dec 5 Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu National Reserve lying 325 kilometers north of Nairobi in the hot and arid fringes of the arid northern region of Kenya. The Reserve is within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbors a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in any numbers. These include the Grevy zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the Beisa oryx - all species found only north of the equator. The long-necked gerenuk is a graceful antelope, which spends much of its time in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulence among the withered scrub, which dots this harsh terrain. Other animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, gerenuks, buffalos, grants gazelles, dikdiks and waterbucks. There are over 350 varieties of birds. These include the famous Somali Ostriches (distinguished by their unique purple/blue legs during mating season) humming birds, king fisher, eagle, vultures and guinea fowls, just to mention a few. (BLD)

Day 6 Nov 1 / Nov 15 / Dec 6 Masai Mara
Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Masai Mara. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your lodge in time for lunch. Siesta until 1600Hrs when you will leave for an afternoon game drive. Each year, far south in the great vastness of the Serengeti, the wildebeest raise their dignified but quaint heads, sniff the air and, as if by one accord, start the long trek to the Kenya border and the Masai Mara National Reserve. After exhausting the grazing in Tanzania's northern Serengeti, a large number of wildebeest and zebra enter the Masai Mara National Reserve around the end of June drawn by the sweet grass raised by the long rains of April and May. MARA SERENA LODGE (BLD)

Day 7 Nov 2 / Nov 16 / Dec 7 Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day in the Mara with two game drives. This reserve is situated to the west of Nairobi, on Tanzania's northern border - it is the extension to the larger Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The Maasai Mara offers wonderful scenery and an abundance of big game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. It is a reserve of breathtaking vistas, panoramas of vast rolling plains, hills and woodland groves, well watered by the lovely Mara River, which bisects the Reserve from north to south. The Mara is home to the largest population of lions in Kenya. These magnificent beasts spending most of the day sleeping in the shade of acacia trees. Vast herds of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest roam the plains. Impala, gazelle, giraffe and hartebeest grace the landscape, and the cautious topi may also be seen standing sentinel on earth mounds on constant lookout of predators. (BLD)

(Optional services at extra cost – Balloon excursion, Masai dancers and village visit)

Day 8 Nov 3 / Nov 17 / Dec 8 Nairobi
Take an early morning game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will be transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met and transfered to Nairobi Serena for a day room. (Optional Lunch at Carnivore Restaurant – extra cost)
In the evening you will be transferred to JKIA for your onward flight. (B)
